THE Compensation Fund (CF) will in September introduce a new electronic system to improve the claims process for compensation for occupational injuries and diseases.
Fund Commissioner Vuyo Mafata said this is intended to improve ease of doing business.
Mafata said restructuring began more than two years ago as a result of a massive backlog in the claims process.
He said they have since embarked on a process of decentralising its services, opening new claims processing centres, appointing medical adjudicators and moving to online platforms.
‘We will soon enter the second phase of our restructuring. We want to be responsive to the needs of our clients.
‘We are not where we were in the past, yet we are not yet where we want to be,’ Mafata said.
