WATCH: Taxi strike causes pandemonium on John Ross Highway this afternoon

A taxi strike on the John Ross and N2 resulted in major delays for motorists this afternoon

TRAFFIC within the city of uMhlathuze was brought to a complete halt this afternoon.

This after taxis within the city embarked on a go-slow and blockaded some of the main entrances and exits between Empangeni, Richards Bay as well as the N2 towards Durban.

After about an hour, and in what can only be described as an informal gathering underneath the N2 bridge over the John Ross, the taxi drivers appeared to come to some sort of resolution as they quickly moved off not long after.

All routes are now clear and traffic is flowing smoothly.
