Richards Bay jump park a suspected scam

The man behind the venture fled the area and has not been seen since

AFTER weeks of looking forward to the opening of a proposed indoor trampoline park in Richards Bay, the public were let down on 4 January when, come opening day, the building stood empty.

It has since come to light that the entire operation could have been a scam.

David Scott is the ‘businessman’ behind the operation and he employed a PA whose job it was to appoint marketing agents to find investors.

The operation fell flat when investors suspected a scam and when Scott failed to pay the PA’s November and December salaries.

Days after the park should have opened, Scott reportedly fled Richards Bay and cannot be contacted.

He has been linked to both a video in which he joked about turning Oscar Pistorius’ house into a party venue, and a fraud case in which his company, Agri Smart Investments, allegedly defrauded investors out of R86-million.

The ZO attempted to contact Scott, but to no avail.
