SAPS warn against sharing of bogus advertisement for police trainees

THE South African Police Service has cautioned members of the public to refrain from sharing a bogus advertisement regarding police trainees circulating on social media.

The document, which contains the SAPS logo, advertises the new entry level trainee intake for 2019, stating that there would be a recruitment drive for new police trainees between 4-11 January and that applicants should visit their nearest police station for further information.

KZN police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala, said it is merely a hoax.

‘We would like to warn the community members to be aware of this bogus advertisement for police trainees.

‘This only be advertised in the newspapers.

‘People are advised to inquire at their nearest police stations before circulating unconfirmed information,’ said Gwala.
