WALKING long distances to reach to their nearest voting station during elections, will be a thing a past for residents of Mhlanga Reserve, outside Ngwelezana.
This was the assurance given to local residents by Ward 27 Councillor Simphiwe Mzimela.
Addressing a community meeting on Sunday, Mzimela said local church, Amazing Grace, will in future be used as a voting station.
‘We know of the difficulties you have experienced in the past, where you used to go as far as Isigisi to reach a voting station.
Other issues discussed during the meeting included the city’s indigent burial assistance programme, electricity, crime and sanitation services.
