IT’S official – the new Mozambique road, which includes the longest suspension bridge in Africa, is officially open.
The long-awaited road is set to cut travel time between Kosi Bay and Maputo from six hours to a mere 90 minutes.
Cross-border tour operators and tourists who regularly travel between South Africa and Mozambique are elated at the upgrade.

In an official ceremony on Saturday, Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi declared the new road open for use.
‘This is a huge achievement!,’ said the KZN Department of Transport.
‘It will boost trade and tourism between South Africa and Mozambique.’
