Missing Ulundi woman presumed kidnapped

Family members received a phone call this morning alleging that the woman was kidnapped and is being kept in eNseleni

POLICE are currently tracing the coordinates of a cellphone in eNseleni following a call made from it to a family member of Thandiwe Hlengiwe Mtambo, who has been missing since last week Tuesday.

Reports indicate that the cellphone was used to call a member of Mtambo’s family this morning, informing them that she had been kidnapped and is being kept in eNseleni.

Mtambo’s family have been left distraught as she’s been missing for more than a week, however despite this, they hang on to the hope that she will soon be found.

According to reports, Mtambo, of the Mahlabatini area near Ulundi, left her home to visit the Richards Bay SARS office last week Monday.

On Monday evening she contacted relatives and informed them that she could not finish what she had set out to do at SARS and thus had to stay over in the area.

Someone had apparently offered her accommodation in eSikhaleni.

On Tuesday her family became concerned after she had not contacted them the entire day.

A police officer close to the case said her family were eventually contacted that afternoon by a member of the public who said they had found Mtambo’s ID near Mandeni on the N2.
