Vacancies open for former cops

Former members from the rank of constable, Sergeant and Warrant Officer can apply

THE South African Police Service (SAPS) is calling on all former members, from the rank of Constable to Warrant Officer who comply with the re-enlistment requirements to apply.

Members must have been appointed as a member of the SAPS in terms of the Police Service Act, 1995; serving in the rank of Constable, Sergeant or Warrant Officer.

Applicants must however ensure that they have never been caught on the wrong side of the law.

Those who will not be considered for enlistment are members who have reached retirement age (early retirement or compulsory retirement age), left the service more than 10 years ago, were dishonourably discharged or dismissed, left the service pending the finalisation of a disciplinary inquiry and/or criminal proceedings, with severance package or due to ill health or retirement/medical boarding.

Only the official application form ‘Application for Re-enlistment: South African Police Service: 2018/2019 financial year’ will be accepted.

The application form is available on the SAPS Website www.saps.gov.za

All instructions on the application form must be adhered to and failure to comply will result in the rejection of the application.

The Z83 previously utilised will no longer be accepted.

Closing date for applications is 9 November.
