MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, said road fatalities has decreased by 1,2 percent between February and June this year.
He was speaking in Durban during the provincial launch of Transport Month on Friday.
He said his department was targeting a 5% decrease by the start of the festive season.
‘As government we shall intensify our law enforcement operations for the month of October and beyond to ensure that we save lives’, said Kaunda.
