Two suspects arrested on their way to commit a robbery in Mandeni

The suspects were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms and 15 rounds of ammunition

TWO suspects have been arrested in the Sundumbili area in Mandeni after police acted on information that the suspects were on their way to commit a robbery.

According to police, the team proceeded to the Masomonco area in Sundumbili, where a suspicious vehicle was spotted.

A search was conducted and two suspects were arrested after they were found in possession of two unlicensed firearms and 15 rounds of ammunition.

The suspects, aged 21 and 42, appeared in the Nyoni Magistrate’s Court on Monday for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

They were remanded in custody until 8 October for a formal bail application.

The suspects will also be profiled to check if they are linked to any other cases reported in Sundumbili and surrounding areas.
