KZN rhino poaching stats down on last year

Monthly statistics for 2018 are February (14), March (4), April (11), May (12), June (9), July (7) and August (5) and to date for September (4)

As the world recognises World Rhino Day on Saturday, 22 September let’s tally the KZN rhino poaching statistics for 2018.

With nine months behind us, according to Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, 76 rhinos have been poached compared to 202 last year and 148 in 2016.

Great expense and effort is being spent in conserving South Africa’s rhinos and those involved, especially the field staff, rangers, vets and funders need to be commended.
