Spring Day is Synchronised Whale Watching Day

The day serves as an opportunity to contribute to the whale count

TODAY (Saturday) is the day when marine enthusiasts along southern Africa’s east coast are called to don their sun hats, apply their sunscreen, pick up their binoculars and participate in Synchronised Whale Watching Day.

In this, the middle of the Humpback whale migration, the day serves as an ideal opportunity to contribute to the whale count.

This year marks the tenth event.

Last year, dolphin teams in Ponta do Ouro enjoyed 20 boat-based and eight land-based sightings.

There was a total of 645 Humpback whale sightings in one day.
