CONVICTED rapist Muziwodumo Mpungose (30) was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the Nongoma Regional Court on Wednesday.
The court heard that in October last year Mpungose, of the eMahhashini area in KwaNongoma, attacked a woman (25) and threatened her with a knife before dragging her to his homestead where he assaulted her and raped her repeatedly.

Mpungose was also accused of defying a protection order to stop him from interacting with his victim, as he used to abuse her verbally.
After raping his victim, Mpungose overslept, allowing his victim to escape and report the matter to the police.
