Acting Director Nana Mthembu this morning said that the system went down when a Telkom cable was damaged.

‘Workers spent the day repairing the cable, fully expecting systems to be operational today,’ she said.

‘However, the systems are still offline and Telkom has indicated that the cable was fixed late yesterday, but that another cable was stolen last night.’

She said that the Richards Bay office is the only one in the King Cetshwayo District that is affected.
