About Ziphakamise Co-Operative Bank
Ziphakamise Savings and Credit Co-operative (SACCO) was launched in 1999 at Bell Equipment in Richards Bay.
At the time, the SACCO only served employees of Bell Equipment. The aim of SACCO was to assist employees to save, have easy access to loans and to receive advice on the wise use of their money.
Since then, the common bond has been expanded to include the community of City of uMhlathuze. Awarded 2016 CBDA best performing Cooperative Financial institution in South Africa .
Having achieved the required 200 membership and deposits of R1-million, Ziphakamise Co-Operative Bank was issued with a Cooperative Banking Licence by South African Reserve Bank in December 2017.
