What’s the Zululand weather prediction?

Who left the fridge door open? Because It's been rather chilly lately

ZULULANDERS throughout the region have been pulling their warmest winter pj’s from storage, and loading up on extra blankets at night – and the cold snap may continue for a few more days.

Our beautiful climate was the envy of many South African’s this week though, as clear skies and snow in parts of the country saw nighttime temperatures plummeting to below zero in Gauteng and most of the interior of the country.

Though the cold front that brought in the snow is reported to have moved out to sea, most of the country is still going to be chilly for the next few days.

So if you’re heading anywhere this weekend, be sure to travel with an extra layer of warm clothing to throw on after sunset, and pack gumboots into the boot of the car for the kids to change into if the rain comes down.

Friday

The minimum temperature will be a manageable 17°c, but will only top out at a high of 21°c, so it’s another day to wear a jacket to work, with the cold air from the snowier regions in the province delivering a frosty wind chill factor.

Patchy rain is possible, particularly around the Richards Bay areas.

Saturday

There’s a more likely chance of rain on Saturday – though only about 2mm – and the temperature is going to remain much the same as Friday, with a low of 17°c and a high of just 22°c. It’s going to be a short and overcast day, with the sunset at around 5.09pm. Overall, not a great day for the beach, so plan on some indoor activities.

Sunday

Sunday’s forecast doesn’t differ much from Saturday’s, with temperatures once again in the mid-teens to low twenties, and another cloudy day with chances of showers.
