Treat disabled with respect says mayor

'We are one municipality that holds disabled people in high regard...'

Disabled people deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, because they are also made of the image of God.

This viewpoint was shared by the Mayor of Nkandla Municipality, Cllr Thamsanqa Ntuli.

He was speaking during the three-day conference held at Nkandla Municipal Chambers to honour the disabled people in the area.

Ntuli said his municipality was doing everything possible to cater for the welfare of disabled people.

‘We are one municipality that holds disabled people in high regard. We involve them in every programme we do as a municipality. We also value their inputs in taking this municipality forward with regard to the delivery of basic services,’ he said.
