Irregularities in pupil transport scheme are ‘under investigation’

The R4-million ferry project was launched last year in Umkhanyakude

The KZN Department of Education is investigating allegations of irregularities over the procurement of eight ferry boats bought last year to transport learners who cross dangerous rivers and dams, to school. Reportedly, only one of the boats is actually operational.
