Position Title: ERP & Systems Administrator
Location: Isithebe, Mandeni, KZN
Duration: Full Time – Permanent
Reporting: Operations Manager
Detail Information
The ERP and Systems Administrator is responsible for Taurus Packaging ERP and IT systems infrastructure. The position needs a good working knowledge of Syspro ERP, Warehouse Management System and Production Management systems. These systems are well integrated using SQL and are extensively used to run the day to day business operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that ERP software meets business requirement through identifying and resolving system issues
- Utilise the organisation’s change management process across all Information systems related areas
- Ensure the company’s internal network infrastructure is functional and secure at all times for smooth operation of business processes 24/7
- First line support of the company’s Firewall system and systems security
- Ensure the company’s Windows servers and mail servers are well maintained, updated and patched in line with security requirements
- Ensure that ERP Integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance and interface specifications
- Assist with contract negotiations with regards to the company’s IT services provision
- Ensure the company’s telecommunications infrastructure is functional
- Assist in Deployment, configuration and support of company’s systems to remote users
- In charge of monthly stock takes in liaison with respective Departmental heads
Required Skills
- Structured approach to problem solving
- Completed Degree or Diploma or IT related professional qualification
- Warehouse Management System Experience Beneficial
- 5 or more years’ experience in a similar position
- Syspro ERP experience very essential
- MCSE/MCITP qualification advantageous
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP knowledge
- Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting Windows Server and SQL Server
- Financial knowledge or background will be an added advantage

During 1979 the factory relocated to Northern KwaZulu-Natal to get closer to the general sack market customers as well as the dominant paper suppliers. Since then much expansion has taken place which has lead Taurus Packaging to be amongst the leading paper bag manufacturers in South Africa and a specialist supplier to the general paper packaging industry.
Taurus is a supplier to all segments of paper bag and sack users in the country and has built up a capacity to annually convert in excess of 28 000 tons of paper into printed, high quality bags for the paper packaging industry. During 2013 Taurus supplied more than 450 million units to our South African and neighbouring state customers.
Major expansion into technologically advanced and sophisticated machines was taken during the past 10 years to put Taurus at the forefront of the printed paper bag market in Southern Africa. Due to consistent growth over the last 15 years, Taurus has had to expand its manufacturing facilities on three different occasions and presently totals 20 000 m2 under roof spread over 4 premises.
