IN an attempt to address the ongoing oncology crisis in the province, the KZN Department of Health have distributed 15 cervical cancer machines to public hospitals in the province.
Six hospitals in the Zululand, uMhkanyadue and King Cetshwayo Districts are set to benefit from cervical cancer machines which will prevent cancer of the cervix which kills at least 3500 woman in the country per year.
Manguzi, Bethesda, Benedictine, Nkonjeni, Nkandla, and Eshowe Hospitals all received the machines from KZN Health MEC, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo at a presentation held in Durban on Wednesday.
