BREAKING: ANC loses to IFP in Jozini by-election

The IFP victory followed fierce campaigning by the party in Jozini

IN what it has termed a ‘landslide victory’, the IFP won yesterday’s municipal by-elections in Jozini by an overwhelming majority.

The party gained 1 451 votes compared with the ANC’s 851, NFP’s 101 and the EFF’s 41.

‘The landslide victory of 1 451 votes is a clear indication that the IFP remains the people’s choice,’ said IFP National Chairperson Blessed Gwala MPL.

The IEC’s announcement of the official votes has reportedly been delayed owing to Telkom technical problems, but these numbers are the result of the manual counting.

‘These results reaffirm the confidence and faith that people have in the IFP and its leadership.’
