AHEAD of a number of big national events being hosted in the City of uMhlathuze, an Easter Road Traffic campaign was held on the N2 at the eSikhaleni off ramp today.
Member of uMhlathuze Traffic and SAPS are stopping and searching vehicles, ensuring that license disks are up to date and that vehicles are roadworthy.
uMhlathuze Mayor, Mdu Mhlongo, urged locals and visitors to be safe over Easter long weekend by adhering to the rules of the road.
Mhlongo further advised people to be responsible when at the beach.
His sentiments were expressed ahead of the annual Caravan Club of Southern Africa (CCSA) rally which takes place in Richards Bay this weekend.
At least 220 caravans and some 600 people are expected to converge on the Richards Bay Caravan Park for the event.
