THE rabies awareness team in eShowe (RABIES), provided free rabies vaccinations to the pets of Sunnydale residents on Wednesday.
Starting at 9am, they worked street by street for most of the day, vaccinating 85 dogs, two cats and three goats.
The goats gave the team a run for their money, who put many a rugby player to shame with their slick tackles, and in the end got their man – or rather goat.
The team of 13 volunteers thank all who contributed to the success of the day, especially Boehringer for the rabies vaccines.

The group calls on all to assist in the fight against rabies.
There is plenty of information available about rabies and what to do if bitten.
In the event of a bite or scratch from an animal that could have rabies, wash any scratches or wounds with running water and soap for at least 15 minutes and get the person to a doctor or hospital for a course of four vaccinations as soon as possible.
Do not let a clinic turn you away and insist on speaking to someone that can advise you about vaccination.
