New library for KwaMthethwa community

Over 2000 children from rural schools around KwaMthethwa will benefit from the new modular library

A brand new modular library will be officially unveiled in KwaMthethwa on Friday, 9 March 2018.

Minister for Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa, together with his counterpart, the KwaZulu-Natal Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation MEC, Mrs Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi, will officiate the handing over of the KwaMthethwa modular library in Zonza, KwaMthethwa, under uMfolozi municipality on the north coast.


More than 2000 children from rural schools around KwaMthethwa are set to benefit from this structure, built to bring access to library service and learning tools closer to people of all ages.

The library is fully equipped with all the necessary resources and books that will allow easy access to information for the community of KwaMthethwa.

This fully functional library has designated areas for all levels of development, from foundation to tertiary education, including material for reading for fun.

The community will also have an access to the use of computers with internet, which will assist mostly job seekers, especially unemployed graduates and youth, in career development and access to information when looking for jobs.

The structure also has a designated area for newspaper reading and an ablution facility with fresh running water.
