A MAN was fatally shot in Dukuduku near Mtubatuba after the sale of a chicken went horribly wrong.
According to police reports, the deceased, Sandile Ndlovu, went to buy a chicken from the accused who cannot be named as he is yet to plead.
The accused was selling the chicken for R80 and did not have change for Ndlovu’s R100.
It was agreed that Ndlovu would return the following day with the correct amount.

Ndlovu returned the following night at 10pm and attempted to pay the accused.
He was disinterested in conducting the transaction and a fight ensued, resulting in Ndlovu being shot and killed.
The accused was arrested a few days later in KwaMbonambi, in possession of a firearm and 20 live rounds of ammunition.
Charged on one count of murder and one count of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, he appeared at Mtubatuba Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The accused requested legal representation and the case was remanded to Tuesday.
