IN celebration of much-needed heavy rains, Zululanders have taken to social media to post photos and videos of flooding rivers and dams, most notably the Hluhluwe dam, whose levels rose from 65% to 104% in 24 hours.
Photos posted of uMkhuze Game Reserve show flooding streams flowing across the road, flooded picnic sites and the walkway of a hide under water.

Another video shows the moment when the Black Mfolozi River starts flowing fast downstream, quickly covering the dry riverbed; a magnificent site to behold.
By this morning (Wednesday), the Mfolozi River had begun flowing into the St Lucia estuary via the recently restored link between the two.
