TWO drug dealers were arrested after police were able to obtain information from an Empangeni High School pupil who had been caught in possession of dagga.
According to King Cetshwayo Cluster police spokesperson, Capt Mbongeni Mdlalose, at about 11am on Tuesday members of Empangeni K9 Unit followed up on information supplied to them by the public regarding some school learners who were smoking dagga at the Empangeni Town Pool during a gala.
‘Our members went to the pool and spoke to the learners about the whereabouts of the dealer.
‘Members followed the information to 18 Stalling Crescent where they found a 23-year-old man in possession of dagga and one laptop.
‘Members continued with their investigations which led them to 40 Davies Crescent where they found a 36-year-old man in possession of dagga and two laptops.

‘The laptops are believed to be stolen property.
‘Both suspects were charged with possession of suspected stolen property, and possession of dagga,’ said Mdlalose.
Meanwhile King Cetshwayo District Director of Education, David Chonco, confirmed the incident and said the learner in question has since been suspended.
‘We do not want drugs in our schools, the School Governing Body (SGB) should deal with this matter, because we are saying if one learner is affected in that way it means there are more learners who are or will be affected.
‘We need to root out these dealers and find out who they are.
‘We want police to assist us – drugs in our schools are becoming an epidemic, when you find a learner who stabs another or brings weapons to schools it is because they are, more often than not, experimenting with drugs and alcohol,’ Chonco said.
