According to the uMlalazi Municipality, the heavy winds blew off roof sheets and rain flooded the building.

‘A portion of the roof was blown off by the heavy wind and as a result rain damaged ceilings and floors,’ said the statement from Communications Manager Mkhuseli Buthelezi.
He said the municipality is still evaluating the damage and costs for repair..
‘The matter will be treated with the urgency it deserves to ensure the hall will be fit for use as soon as possible.’
No injuries were reported during the incident.
