ONE suspect was shot and two arrested following a business robbery in Empangeni at the weekend.
According to King Cetshwayo Cluster Police spokesman, Capt Mbongeni Mdlalose, the Empangeni K9 Unit received information about a business robbery in progress in Maxwell Street at about 1pm on Sunday.
‘Members responded and saw two suspects running from the scene at the U2 shop.

‘One suspect was shot after opening fire on police and one was arrested after a short chase,’ said Mdlalose.
‘Two unlicensed pistols and cash were recovered from the two arrested suspects. Later a third suspect was identified and arrested.
‘The suspect who was shot is recovering in the Ngwelezana Hospital under police guard, while the other two suspects are in police custody.
