Zululand community foundation seeks new board members

Those interested in applying must be resident in either King Cetshwayo or uMkhanyakude districts

THE uThungulu Community Foundation board is, in accordance with its constitution, seeking to appoint two new board members.

Interested parties are invited to register an interest to serve on the board, but appointed members would need to be resident in either the King Cetshwayo or uMkhanyakude districts.

A voluntary position, members serve on the uThungulu Community Foundation board for two years without compensation, except for reasonable expenses incurred during the course of doing authorised work for the foundation.

In accordance with the constitution, board members are appointed on the basis of activity in representation of public institutions or organisations concerned with community work, business, education, social welfare, health and natural resource needs.

The purpose of this provision is to make the board generally representative of public interest and the needs of the foundation’s operational areas.

Preference will be given to female candidates.

The uThungulu Community Foundation is a community-driven organisation that facilitates a development process through which meaningful change and socio-economic development is realised.

It is a not-for-profit, publicly supported institution, organised and operated primarily as a permanent collection of endowed funds for the long-term benefit of the Zululand region.

Its major sectors of focus are health, education, youth development and development of small, medium and micro enterprises.

Interested parties must register their interests in writing on or before 4 February.
