Mhlathuze Water welcomes new interns

Interns are given the opportunity to gain practical experience in their chosen field

PRIORITISING youth development and aiming to expose learners to a particular profession, Mhlathuze Water last week welcomed 14 interns onto their training programme.

The Internship and In-service Trainee Programme affords graduates the opportunity of practical experience to complement their theoretical knowledge in their chosen field.

The interns will be placed in various departments, including Operations, Technical Services, Finance, Corporate Services and Executive.

‘We are confident that the young professionals will be equipped with the necessary resources, helping them to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the work environment, develop their skills in their profession and hopefully provide them with plenty of invaluable experience in the real working world,’ said Mandla Myeni, GM: Corporate Services.

He said the utility is mindful of the vast challenges that lie ahead for future leaders and therefore continues to make youth development a priority within the organisation.

‘Dealing with such challenges effectively depends on a strengthened partnership between the private and public sectors.

‘We will continue to work hand-in-hand with our partners in empowering young people.’
