A 35-YEAR-OLD male was arrested on Sunday in Mevamhlope on charges of attempted murder.
According to reports Inkosi Zungu was holding a traditional ceremony (umhlonyane) for his daughter.
At about 6pm, during the ceremony, warriors did some stick-fighting. A man, known as a Madlebe Tradition Council security guard, suddenly produced a hand gun and began shooting at the warriors.

A 62-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to his body in the incident and was rushed to hospital.
The police arrested the suspect on charges of attempted murder and his licensed firearm was seized as an exhibit and will be sent for ballistic tests.
He appeared at the Ngwelezana Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
