COMMUNITIES in the Mtunzini (uMlalazi) and Dlangezwa (eSikhaleni) areas face serious water interruptions caused by a burst pipe at Lake iChubu on Friday.
Repair work is expected to last at least a week.
The King Cetshwayo District Municipality (KCDM) confirmed that areas receiving water from Lake iChubu will have no water supply while repairs are underway.
Water tankers will be deployed to the affected communities.
A temporary road is being constructed to undertake the repairs since houses have been built around the lake over the years, and this has posed a challenge in accessing the area.
