Nozibusiso is John Ross College’s star pupil

Nozi Mngomezulu achieved seven distinctions

JOHN Ross College matriculant Nozibusiso ‘Nozi’ Mngomezulu started 2018 on a high note after achieving seven distinctions and a Bachelor’s degree pass.

‘I am so happy with my results,’ said an ecstatic Nozi, who can now fully relax and enjoy the rest of her summer holiday before heading to university to study medicine.

‘I was expecting some distinctions, but I was worried about my geography and life orientation results.’

Nozi, who was the 2017 Dux at John Ross College, said she worked as hard as she could throughout the year, often going to bed late and getting up early.

‘Going into the final exams I was a bit nervous, but I knew I was well prepared.

‘I’ve applied to a few universities, including Wits and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, but I would like to go to Wits.’

Nozi is awaiting final confirmation from the university now that she has her results.

She also applied for a bursary from the Department of Health, but is yet to hear whether or not she has been successful.

‘I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my life and all that it has to offer.’

John Ross College Principal, Janienne King, said Nozi was a hard worker throughout her high school career and she is not surprised at all that she did so well.

‘We had not had one day of trouble from the Class of 2017 throughout the entire academic year.

‘Every one of the learners was a pleasure to work with and I look forward to more of the same from this year’s matrics.’

Overall, John Ross College attained an 84% pass rate.
