KZN Transport MEC strongly condemns N2 rock throwing incident

Anyone who has information on the incident is urged to contact the police

KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Mxolisi Kaunda, has warned motorists to be vigilant when driving underneath overhead bridges.

This after a rock was hurled onto a passenger vehicle from the Tongaat bridge earlier this week, killing a brother and sister and leaving their father seriously injured.

‘We condemn this barbaric act that led to the death of these innocent youngsters,’ said Kaunda.

‘This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.

‘We cannot afford to lose lives on the road because of people who are ruthless and nefarious.

‘I want to appeal to all who might have information on this incident, to come forward and assist the police.

‘On behalf of the government, we would like to send our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.’

A case of murder was opened pending further investigation.
