BREAKING: Second drowning in a week at Richards Bay’s Mzingazi beach

Police search and rescue will resume the search for the missing boy

IN the second such incident in a week, the search is on for the body of a 10-year-old boy who is suspected to have drowned this afternoon (Thursday) after going missing in the surf at Mthiyane Camp north of Richards Bay.

It is thought the alarm was raised an hour after the incident had occurred.

Just after 3pm, Richards Bay NSRI duty crew were activated, and dispatched a rescue vehicle and swimmers.

Police were also notified.

A thorough search revealed no sign of the missing child.

A police search and rescue unit will continue with the search.

SAPS is investigating the incident.
