TRAGEDY struck a Mtubatuba family on Christmas Eve, whose toddler drowned in a bathtub at their home in Shikshela, north of Mtubatuba.
According to police reports, the mother of the 16-month-old boy left him at home with his sibling and their granny while she visited the neighbour.

When the mother returned home, she reportedly asked the granny where the children were and it was then that the toddler’s body was discovered in the bathtub outside the house.
The family attempted to perform CPR, to no avail.
KwaMsane SAPS have opened a case of drowning, but no foul play is suspected.
