Zikulise makes a difference

In 13 years of operation, Zikulise has trained more than 5 000 people

FINISHING the year on a high note, Zikulise Skills Training Centre in Empangeni handed over certificates of competence to 35 trainees who successfully completed one of the many courses available at the centre.

The trainees completed courses in income generating skills, baking, sewing, hair braiding and general business skills.

‘Thank you Zikulise for giving us skills to start our own businesses and enabling us to make a better life for ourselves and our families,’ said Qhamukile Thutha, one of the baking trainees.

‘My wish is that Zikulise can help others in the new year so they, too, can benefit like I have.’

More than 270 people this year successfully completed skills training at Zikulise, at no cost to themselves.

‘We have added another successful year to the 13 that we have been in existence and look forward with eager anticipation to the many more that lie ahead,’ said Julie Jonson, Zikulise Executive Director.

‘During these years more than 5 000 beneficiaries have been assisted by Zikulise and we are grateful to all the donors, funders and supporters who have made it possible.’
