THE uncle and aunt of a 10-year-old Mtuba girl were arrested on charges of sexual abuse and conspiracy to commit a crime respectively after the uncle allegedly raped the girl and his wife helped orchestrate the crime.
The incident occurred on 3 December at the suspects’ house in Machibini Reserve near KwaMsane.
According to police reports, the victim and her siblings were playing outside when two of the three were sent to the shop by their aunt.
The victim was ordered into the bedroom where her uncle forced her to undress.
He then reportedly raped her twice while his wife watched TV.
Later, when the victim’s siblings found her in the bedroom, they went to the police station where a case was opened.
The suspects were arrested and detained at KwaMsane police cells.
