Brothers ‘inseparable to the end’

Identities of female death crash occupants still unknown

TWO victims of the horrific Sunday morning crash which claimed four lives have been identified as loving and inseparable brothers from eSikhaleni.

The lives of Sifiso Prince Manqele (32) and younger sibling Kwazi Mthokozisi Manqele (22) were snuffed out like a candle when their VW Golf collided with a truck near eSikhaleni Cemetery at 4am.

Reports suggest they were driving back home with two female friends when the fatal accident occurred.

The close brothers died on impact along with their friends.

The truck driver escaped with minor injuries and fled the scene soon after the fatal accident, claiming he was going to the nearest clinic for medical attention.

Police are still searching his whereabouts.

Community surrounded by grief

With the two brothers known as a caring pair within the tight-knit J1 Section in eSikhaleni, sorrow continues to engulf the community.

On Wednesday, close friend Sdingo Zulu told the ZO they are grappling to come to terms with the tragic loss.

‘No words can be adequate to convey the loss we feel. They both had good hearts and loved their family and friends. They played huge roles in our lives and they will be dearly missed,’ he said.

Neighbour and relative Mbali Zulu described the siblings as respectful and helpful within the community.

‘They were always together, that’s how much they loved each other. They would drop anything to assist us as neighbours – just two young boys who had a positive contribution to our society,’ she said.
