Suspected Mbongolwane cop killers in court

Suspected Mbongolwane policeman killers appear in court

FOUR suspects linked to the killing of a police officer at Mbongolwane appeared in the eShowe Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

The accused withdrew their bail applications and were remanded in custody until 19 January.

Their arrests followed intensive investigations which traced them to eSikhaleni.

It was established that two of the suspects, Mhlakayifani Mpho Mathonsi (22) and Mbongiseni Madwa Thusini (21), were previously arrested for a business robbery in Mbongolwane in 2014.

Following their 2014 court appearance, they were released on bail, but flouted their bail conditions and warrants for their arrests were issued.
