Residential burglary alert in Richards Bay

Burglaries reported across Richards Bay

RICHARDS Bay police encourage residents to be alert after several burglaries and house robberies were reported in Mzingazi and Veldenvlei last week.

SAPS Communications Officer, Captain Debbie Ferreira, confirmed the incidents.

‘On Sunday night, a Mzingazi resident was robbed at gunpoint after three suspects kicked down his door.

‘Other residences were also targeted. Windows were removed and household items stolen,’

In Veldenvlei a house in Honeysuckle street was burgled on Monday night and criminals cleaned out the garage of power tools, equipment and other valuables.

On Tuesday, another house in Veldenvlei was targeted, the garage window was removed and a grass cutting machine stolen.

Ferreira has urged residents to be more cautious ahead of the festive season, ensuring their properties are secured at all times.
