Police weed out dagga in eShowe
Municipal officials and police work together to clear eShowe Taxi and Bus Rank of drug peddling

AFTER a community tip-off about drug peddling at eShowe Taxi and Bus Rank, members of uMlalazi Municipality Public Safety were on a mission to clean up the area on Friday.
In a joint venture with eShowe SAPS, officials recovered dagga and a group of smokers in an illegal shack erected closer to the rank.

‘We received information regarding drug and illegal alcohol sales at the rank and action had to be taken to ensure the safety of commuters and the public,’ said uMlalazi Municipality Communications Manager Mkhuseli ‘Chaos’ Buthelezi.
‘Some shack dwellers ran away immediately after seeing the team approaching. Expired food product used for sale to the public were also recovered and confiscated by the police,’
This police work followed a tour at the rank where pop up-shacks which promote illegal trading such alcohol and drugs dealings were spotted by officials.
