Zululand woman faces jail time for her involvement in theft

Hefty sentence for fraud

A RICHARDS Bay woman was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court for her involvement in the theft of  R2-million from local cash services and solutions company, SBV.

Zanele Nxele (33), a SBV employee at the time, was charged for fraud in September 2015.

She assisted a foreigner by sending through fraudulent bank letters authorising the payment of R2-million and ensuring the transaction was processed.
