‘My younger brother raped my daughter’

A FATHER of a 14-year-old girl is still traumatised after discovering that his young brother had been raping his daughter since 2015.
The 43-year-old father from Bahlabathini said he went to his daughter’s bedroom where she was supposed to be sleeping and was shocked when he discovered the girl was not there.
‘It was about 8pm when I discovered this. I waited in the dining room for her to come back, but at about 10pm I saw her coming out of my brother’s bedroom.
‘She was half naked. When I asked her what she was doing in my brother’s room, she told me he had raped her, adding he had been doing so since 2015.’
The police were called and his brother was arrested.
‘Shortly after that my daughter became sick and it looked as if she had a stroke.
‘She is getting better now, but the most painful thing is that my brother was released a few days after the arrest. He came home, packed his belongings and left,’ the father said.
His brother is now living with relatives away from home.
‘I have heard that he will be back in court at the end of this month, and I don’t know what will happen if the court sets him free.
‘Her mother died in 2013 and now she lives with me and my second wife, but she is still very traumatised.’
