Driver survives 20 metre plunge off Melmoth Pass

Driver escapes uninjured

THE driver of a double cab walked away unscathed from his vehicle after it plunged about 20 metres off the Melmoth Pass on Monday morning.

He was travelling from Melmoth towards eShowe at around 7am when he lost control and the vehicle left the road.

The vehicle hit a large tree before plummeting further down the embankment.

Adverse rainy weather conditions made the road surface extremely slippery and dangerous.

Medical staff transported one slightly injured male patient to eShowe District Hospital for further treatment.
