MY STORY: Girlfriend’s powerful love potion causes turmoil

THEY say love is a powerful and wonderful thing, but what happens when you discover your partner cast a love spell on you and used muthi from a witch doctor to create that magic?

Thirty-eight-year-old Mfanafuthi (surname withheld) from eMatshana is questioning the love he has for his girlfriend and believes the woman used muthi to make him return to her.

Seated on a grass mat at a traditional doctor’s rooms, Mfanafuthi poured his heart out and explained how his partner turned the tables on him when he decided to leave her for another woman.

‘I left her because I didn’t have feelings for her anymore and had found a new girlfriend. Two days after ending the relationship, I was invited to her house for a talk. We ended things amicably and I believed everything was fine.

‘As we talked she served me food, and the next morning I woke up with a burning sensation in my chest.

‘I consulted a doctor, but tests revealed nothing was amiss,’ Mfanafuthi said.

He believes things took a turn for the worst when he started having strange dreams about his ex-girlfriend soon after his visit to her house.

‘I had the same dream every night for a week. In my dream we were so in love and I don’t know what happened, but I suddenly found myself back in her arms again.
