MY STORY: Love knows no boundaries

'God brought us together for a greater purpose'

BORN and raised in Hawaii, Lindsay Myeni travelled 11 countries and crossed oceans before meeting her true love, 25-year-old Zululander Lindani.

Growing up in a poor environment and surviving tough times, Lindsay (25) become a qualified real estate agent before being introduced to God, which she says literally changed her life.

‘I was introduced to Jesus at the age of 16 and only once qualified as a realtor at age 21 did I feel God calling me to partake in an initiative called ‘The World Race’.

This missionary trip involves participants going to 11 countries in 11 months preaching the word of God, as well as helping out in local communities.

While on the mission tour in 2015, plans changed after the group finishing up in Lesotho, which saw them stay in cheap accommodation in Durban on a four-day layover before jetting off to the Philippines.

eSikhaleni’s Lindani was playing rugby for the Jaguars Rugby Club at the time and was staying on the first floor of the same complex.

‘The funny part is that we were never meant to be in South Africa, as we were meant to go to Japan, but owing to some serious issues we were forced to stay in Durban for four days before heading to the next country,’ said Lindsay.

The two met up in the recreational room and Lindani invited her to come watch his team’s training session.
