AFTER 16 postponements in two years it seems as if the case against alleged rhino poaching kingpin Dumisani Gwala, is finally making headway.
Last Thursday Gwala, together with his co-accused Wiseman Makeba and Aubrey Dlamini, appeared in the Ngwelezana Regional Court where their case was postponed to 9 to 12 October for trial.
According to a source, many witnesses will take the stand during to testify.
Gwala, Dlamini and Makeba face a combined 10 charges relating to the illegal purchase and possession of rhino horn‚ and of resisting arrest.
They were arrested in December, 2015 after a sting operation in which rhino horn was bought.
At the time of their arrests, Gwala was believed to have been involved in about 80% of the illegal rhino horn trade in KZN.
