MY STORY: ‘I woke up paralysed’

'My mother thought I was possessed'

‘I WOKE up one morning in July with a pounding headache and found that the entire left side of my body felt heavy and numb and could not move.’

Terrified St Catherine’s Grade 9 learner Nontobeko Ntombela shouted for her mother to come help and she was assisted to her mom’s room to ‘sleep it out’ till the next morning.

‘When I woke up the next day my body was back to normal, but the headache was still excruciating.

‘When I told my mom I feel better, she told me that I was possessed.’

Nontobeko stayed at home that day with her brother (21) and aunt for more rest.

But by mid-day, while standing at the television, she could feel the left side of her body going numb again.

‘I immediately said: ‘In the name of Jesus, make this go away.’

She managed to utter these words just before collapsing to the floor.
